BusinessSolve, developer of the award-winning
scheduling solution Hotdesk Manager, today announced that it has
signed a partnership agreement with Advanced Workplace Associates
(AWA), the UK’s leading independent workplace transformation
consultancy. With growing interest in hot desk solutions, and confidence
that Hotdesk Manager is ‘the best scheduling solution we’ve
seen’, the announcement marks an unprecedented move by AWA
by agreeing to endorse a software solution from a third party.
Under the terms of the Consulting Partner agreement, AWA will integrate
BusinessSolve’s Hotdesk Manager into its consulting offering
to current and future clients and support its deployment, whilst Business
Solve will provide technical back up and ‘in flight’ support.
AWA will also offer an outsourced utilisation monitoring service based
on a unique set of reports that will only be available through AWA.
Hotdesk Manager can help to increase the capacity of buildings by up
to 25% by simply improving the efficiency in the use of available space.
As Andrew Mawson, AWA’s Managing Director points out: ‘From
the many studies we have undertaken as part of out transformation activities,
we know that most buildings are only utilised at a rate of 45% under
traditional approaches to work and workplace.’
With escalating rental prices and rising building maintenance costs,
businesses are considering how they can get more out of their existing
space. This requires new working practices – such as hot desking
and remote working – and demands the deployment of solutions
that will facilitate them. In addition, increasing concerns about the
environment is forcing a reassessment of established working models;
businesses are under pressure to reduce their carbon footprint and
to be seen as ‘good corporate citizens’ by encouraging
their staff to adopt environmentally friendly working practices. Combined,
these trends are driving increasing numbers of clients to seek consultation
about alternative working practices and solutions provided by A
To address this need, AWA assessed the scheduling options available.
After evaluating the products on the market, it decided that BusinessSolve
provided AWA with the flexibility that it needed from an industry partner,
while Hotdesk Manager provided its clients with the flexibility and
scalability they need from a scheduling solution. WA.
Mawson added: “We entered into an agreement with BusinessSolve
because of the flexibility of the product and the willingness to recognise
the need for flexibility as a company. This means that between us we
can tailor the most appropriate solutions for our clients. Hotdesk
Manager is the best workspace scheduling system we’ve seen.”
AWA also believes that the deployment of Hotdesk Manager addresses
three critical staff-related aspects of hot desking; Hotdesk Manager’s
facility to pre-booking desks and other office resources in advance,
assures staff that the desk and the office resources they need are
available, enabling them to be productive the moment they arrive at
their selected hot desk. As the solution also allows users to see which
of their colleagues have booked a desk, they can book their desks according
to who else they will be sharing the office with that day. Finally,
Hotdesk Manager can be used as a powerful reporting mechanism for a
company’s management board, revealing peaks in desk activity,
and establishing which resources are either over- or under-used. This
valuable feedback enables companies to optimise their hot desk policies
and practices, and the resources needed to support it.
BusinessSolve’s Hotdesk Manager has been successfully trialled
in the UK and across Europe, where the user community has stated that
the cost savings in terms of real estate, energy and support services
are considerable. Hotdesk Manager links effortlessly with existing
scheduling software, is platform independent, and its interface can
be customised to adhere to an organisation's branding guidelines. BusinessSolve’s
scheduling solutions have already been successfully deployed at the
Welsh Assembly and the Home Office, as well as in a broad range of
private sector sites.
Nigel Reading, BusinessSolve’s Business Development Director,
said: “Advanced Workplace Associates’ decision to partner
with a third party is an unprecedented move for the company. It is
indicative of the confidence that it has in BusinessSolve, and in Hotdesk
Manager. We look forward to a long a successful relationship, bringing
an effective and powerful hot desk solution to the growing numbers
of organisations that want to deploy a hot desking strategy.”
